George Fisher was born, raised and educated in Richmond, Virginia. He graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with two fine arts degrees, receiving the Ruth Hibbs Hyland Scholarship award and a nomination into Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. Some of his paintings were juried into exhibitions at Virginia Commonwealth University’s Anderson Gallery, and he also had work juried into shows at the Student Art Space in the VCU Fine Arts Building.
George previously taught for ten years in Henrico County Public Schools. His multi-disciplinary knowledge lends itself well to working with students across a broad spectrum of abilities.
He lives in Glen Allen with his wife Kathy, and continues to paint, draw and make sculptural art. He also is a professional musician, having played various instruments in local groups since he was in high school.
